The mission of the Southern Unity Movement (SUM) is to serve as a community-based initiative throughout the southeastern US, to raise awareness about injustices that disproportionately impact the Black LGBTQ+ community. This will be accomplished through educational and cultural events that are intergenerational, multi-gendered and builds alliances with others fighting for freedom and justice for all.
